How I Work
Real estate is a demanding and time-consuming profession. So, to effectively serve my customers and clients, I have partnered with Val Prochaska. We coordinate daily on the tasks involved in all the transactions we handle. Together, we bring 42 years of combined experience.
My assistant, Val Prochaska, is really more of my partner. We worked together 14 years ago, when he got licensed and went out on his own. Val spent over a decade providing the same customer-oriented service that I pride myself on. He served primarily Queen Anne’s County, and brings extensive knowledge of that market to the team. He is my detail person, so you will be talking with him very early in the home buying/selling process.
Availability
I am available 7 days a week, with a little advance notice of course. I take phone calls up til 8:00 at night because I know that your time is valuable. I return all calls within 15 minutes. If I am on the phone when a call comes in, I either break away to take a message, or Val calls back, frequently before the caller has had the time to leave a message. When I’m out of the office my direct lines are forwarded to my cell phone. Furthermore, Val is available 5 days a week.
I utilize e-mail extensively (part of my e-PRO certification) and respond promptly to all e-mails. I promise I will always be available to you. My customers and clients frequently tell me that I am the most responsive agent they've ever had.
Representation
Licensed by the state of Maryland, I represent only one party per transaction, either the Buyer or Seller. I will inform you at our first contact by phone or in person as to whom I will be representing. Once we meet, the representation will be in writing. Here is a more complete description of my representation to either the Buyer or the Seller.

What Those Initials Mean
ABR Accredited Buyer’s Representative
Buyer representation changes the playing field when you’re buying a house. The old rule of Caveat Emptor (Let the Buyer Beware) is still the rule of thumb, but because of the training Val and I have received, we can better serve the buyer.
ASR Accredited Seller's Representative
Since your home is usually the biggest investment you'll ever make, as well as being the center of your life, when you go to sell your home, you need someone who can serve your needs and represent your interests. This designation helps keep me at the forefront of new techniques to maximize your home's value, whether in good or bad markets.
CRS Certified Residential Specialist
This is the hardest of the designations to earn because in addition to the classwork and testing of the other designations, the Realtor must reach specific sales targets each year. In other words, you have to practice what you’re taught.
e-PRO Internet Professional As befits an internet/e-mail power education, this class is all on-line, and helps give me the experience and knowledge base to serve you most effectively on line.
GRI Graduate Realtors Institute
Extensive training and testing over a 4 – 6 month period makes this the basic on-the-job training for Realtors who want to build their professional expertise.
SRES Senior Real Estate Specialist
The real estate and financial needs of seniors and retirees are different from those of the general public. Knowing when to take advantage of your home's equity through a reverse mortgage or deciding when to put your ownership in a trust are critical decisions. The SRES training helps me serve your financial needs better.
